    Best way is to say

"What's that disgusting smell? Christ it's revolting!"

    When he says "Don't know"

Say "Oh it's you, you ******* stink. Don't you wash?"

I find this approach gets to the crux of the problem quickly and without any confusion.

If you can get to his/her mobile ... send them a text from said phone to their own number...

"Hello, this is your phone here. Just had to get out of your pocket - good god your gonads stink." etc etc

I think the correct answer is to take the person to one side and tell them that you have noticed that at times their body odour can be quite powerful and unpleasent

you do this as opposed to saying some people have mentioned etc etc as then the person does not think everyone has been calling them a smelly g*t behind their backs.

keep it between you and the person do not go over board do not make it light hearted or a joke

        re-visit if problem continues.

Add an event to his Outlook calendar: Wash.

I've had to deal with this myself before

I was honest but did say I have a very sensitive sense of smell to make it seem like it was just me who noticed.

I then went and told them about specialist deodrants such as PerspireX

Next day was much better and never happened again after that

I'd probably go along the lines of " phowr BO, <sniff me pits> is it me???"

LOL oh its you, you should try (lynx, sure...) it works pretty well mate.

pretty subtle and not poking fun, or isolating them.
