I'd probably go along the lines of " phowr BO, <sniff me pits> is it me???"
LOL oh its you, you should try (lynx, sure...) it works pretty well mate.
pretty subtle and not poking fun, or isolating them.

You swine!Originally posted by GardenGirl View PostI've had to deal with this myself before
I was honest but did say I have a very sensitive sense of smell to make it seem like it was just me who noticed.
I then went and told them about specialist deodrants such as PerspireX
Next day was much better and never happened again after that

I think the correct answer is to take the person to one side and tell them that you have noticed that at times their body odour can be quite powerful and unpleasent
you do this as opposed to saying some people have mentioned etc etc as then the person does not think everyone has been calling them a smelly g*t behind their backs.
keep it between you and the person do not go over board do not make it light hearted or a joke
re-visit if problem continues.

If you can get to his/her mobile ... send them a text from said phone to their own number...
"Hello, this is your phone here. Just had to get out of your pocket - good god your gonads stink." etc etc

Best way is to say
"What's that disgusting smell? Christ it's revolting!"
When he says "Don't know"
Say "Oh it's you, you ******* stink. Don't you wash?"
I find this approach gets to the crux of the problem quickly and without any confusion.

Build a replica of Stonehenge around his desk using air fresheners/deoderants and soap.
If he doesn't get the hint at least you'll have an interesting piece of "artwork" to look at.

Young cocksure manager a couple of gigs ago was bragging about how well he handled the same situation by advising said smelly bastard to change his washing powder.Originally posted by AZZIK View PostReally need to tell someone here (permy) that they stink badly...
Everyone notices, but no-one says anything. How does one tell someone that they punk??
"This takes the person out of the problem as you are blaming their clothes and not them"

Wouldn't be very anonymous if they knew where they came from.Originally posted by OwlHoot View PostThere are obscure medical conditions that prevent the body from breaking down certain enzymes (or make too much of them - I forget which).
These can result in someone smelling fishy or rank in some way, despite their best efforts to wash and deodorize etc, and I imagine might be a nice little earner for a victim who chose to sue the company or individual coworkers for harassment if soap and suchlike is left on their desks or they receive anonymous emails etc !
Mind you, it's far more likely the git in question doesn't wash, or cycles twenty miles into work and doesn't shower.
