Edit: added link to reason to invade Spain
Why can't we invade France, Spain and Italy?

Oh yeah : armed forces have only enough budget to invade Belgium. Which is not worth invading....

Yes it is. It’s (somewhat quietly) a very nice place. I would rather keep it that way though, seeing as it’s only a couple of hours drive for us.

          Mich,

the reason Belgium is such a nice place and such a little gem is because the majority of Brits overlook Belgium as insignificant and not worth a look in

long may the situation continue i say

          Milan.

Don't tell anyone but Luxurybourg is rather nice too.

I know, lived in Antwerpen for 3 yrs contracting and travelled a lot in the area, long weekends in Ardennes, Luxembourg, Durbey etc

you have some beautiful towns too, that square in Delft with the church with the spire that appears to have been extended and extended during different architectural periods, amazing,

              all the best,

              Miland.

I'm contracting in Haarlem, which is a very smart place indeed. All the smaller Hanseatic towns like Haarlem, Zwolle and Deventer are really very nice places, somewhat similar to Antwerpen or Gent but smaller.

Then there's Dutch and Belgian Limburg; imagine the English countryside with Dutch and Belgian towns, a few vineyards and some of Europe's best restaurants. Long may the chavs ignore it.

I was just reading "Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson and he mentions Luxy as a beautiful place.

It is, and the chavs will ignore it simply because there's nothing there for them. If you like beautiful countryside, good wines, good food and a generally civilised atmosphere you'll like the place. Don't just go to the city, but get out to the places along the Mosel. That's another gem; anyone who thinks the Mosel region only makes terrible cheapo wines is very mistaken; some of the very best dry Rieslings are from Mosel.

Just do a google picture search of Luxembourg and you'll see.
