I think it will be where it is now : 4500 : but will go down inbetween.

I wonder why the FTSE 100 isn't infinite.

After all, eventually share prices will rise. They always do. So looking long long, really long term one must value shares very highly. Then someone else will value the shares even higher because they look beyond where the last person looked, and so it goes on.
