You and your girls do what suits you.
I will take the blokes rallying, quad biking, paragliding, kayaking and paintballing.
Half a pig roasting over an open fire, talking tulip till sunrise with abottle of rum on the round is more my deal.
      It's a man thing, you wouldn't understand.

Strippers and pub crawls are just so chav.

          I'm with TLG here.

Forget the cliches, do something active and interesting, ending with a beach BBQ sounds ideal.

My best man arranged a stag weekend that went a bit like this:
          • Friday, meet-up, go out around town for a meal and some drinks (yes, perhaps we did overdo it slightly).
          • Saturday, at stupid'o'clock we were by the harbour, kitted up and given an 'elf & safety talk before jumping aboard a RIB (Rigid inflatable boat) with a ridiculous 250 hp motor on the back. We then went out to sea, and carved our own waves, hitting ridiculous speeds and waking us up properly. Great hangover cure.
          • Next stop - clay pigeon shooting at an interestingly varied range. Half of them had never fired a shotgun before - and were worryingly good at it.
          • Then back on the boat, back to harbour, and a slap-up surf & turf dinner.
          • Then a slow wind-up to the evening with drinks that ended with us in a fantastically cheesy 80s disco - with me on the stage leading the 'dance' moves for a wee while.
So a bit of 'active' madness mixed with the traditional beverage-related nonsense.

The only limiting factor was budget as you have to cater for everyone's wallets. If all your mates are loaded then spend more time away and by a beach somewhere. Advice would be less of the clubbing more of the socialising.

Activities are all well and good. I've been on both types recently, both were enjoyable.

I prefer a good pub crawl as more people who might not be able to make a weekend away are able to come for (at least a small bit) of a pub crawl. Curry to finish...

PS. Don't forget that as a contractor, you have the right of substitution.

Will forward my Phone No for the wedding Night, just in case you're not up to it

I have been to many stag nights/weekends and the same old same old is nothing special.
Roaming round Blackpool/Prague/Amsterdam getting pissed and watching strippers is just a bigger version of every other piss up.
The only thing that seems to tie everyone together is making a twat of the groom.

For me that is divisive. I have never been entertained by the ritual humiliation of another.

Obviously you have to account for finance and physical ability but doing somethign together as a group, particularly if it is an achievement is so much more worthwhile.

A beach BBQ and camp fire is a uniting event. You will learn so much more about yourself and all your friends getting pissed under these circumstances than you will getting pissed in some non descript club, with or without strippers/hookers.

If that makes me a girl then so be it. I know what I would rather do.

A couple of suggestions for your team.
                    Expensive.
                    Make a parachute jump.
Track day (I would recomend speedway bikes).
                    Water skiing.

                    Cheap.
                    Hike/Climb a mountain.

We had a tremendous day at "Go Ape" and had lots of laughs later in the pub talking about who made an asre of themselves (it was me) and who surprised everybody.

Do something life affirming and avoid the chav traps.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Another stag do I've been on:
                      • Day 1 - arrive at a luxury spa hotel and settle in, enjoying the facilities/sauna/pool etc. Go out for a top notch meal in town (Bristol).
                      • Day 2 - morning, breakfast, then the whole group (we hired a minibus) goes off to meet a breakdancing tutor for a hilarious morning falling over and having embarrassing photos taken.
                      • Light lunch while our sense of balance slowly comes back to us, then...
                      • Afternoon, off to a circus skills training course, where we try tightrope walking (the fear), unicycling, trapeze (utter fear), aerial silk (very difficult, and funny), plate spinning, juggling et al...
                      • Then back to the hotel to change then off to a great Mexican restaurant in town, then out to a club.
Although we were quite tired by the end of this!
