I have picked secondary school based on it being a faith school. The kids work harder and have a desire to get on : its nothing to do with faith.

Until state secondary schools start excluding trouble makers there will be a place for faith schools/public schools.

Schools that are allowed to discriminate

The point is, that faith schools discriminate (IMO immorally) despite the fact that they are taxpayer funded and have a duty to serve their community. Public schools obviously discriminate by their very nature, but that's capitalism. Its not really to do with the ability to exclude; the system itself promotes two tiers because it implicitly allows this discrimination.

IMO the only difference is that i the schools the kids toe the line. It means that those who want to work can get on.

If I ruled the world I would bring in the death penalty for anyone who committed an 'incestuous' crime
          i.e. a policeman who committed a crime
an accountant who fiddled the books
A doctor who harmed his patients
An IT guy who builds a virus
A judge who gave a wrong judgement
A lawyer who gives dodgy advice
A politician who didnt serve the public interest

I would also double lampost production

Some of those are quite subjective. Who is going to decide? And what is their punishment if they get it wrong?

Me, I decide, because I rule the world. I wont get it wrong, I will follow the rules and if there is a mistake, the system is to blame.

AIUI Catholic doctrine is quite the opposite. That man is basically sinful, and <ou can only be accepted by God if you go to mass etc.
