Why I am starting to despise my Parish Priest

When you look at religions through the ages, isn't it interesting that the "god" people worship always seems to hate the same people that they do? And that for most of them, everyone who doesn't think like they do has to be fixed in some way (be it "saved" or just plain killed?)

My own views on religion and the church are unimportant, as are anyones individual views; the individual represents the ultimate minority, remember.

If one chooses to believe then - great. If not - also great.

When we got married we'd decided that because neither of us were religious that a church service would be somewhat hypocritical. We chose to get married in a country house hotel in the midsts of some beautiful landscape by the local registrar.

I don't think I hate anyone and I do not feel the need to 'save' anyone.
My beliefs are my own, I do not force them upon anyone, unlike several of the posters on here who seem to need to inform us all at regular intervals how rubbish we are for having faith.

A true story from the Priestly front-line.
My Brother is a vicar in the North East and he has two curates and some church helpers. One of the helpers has mental issues having been abused as a child by his step father. Both of the curates have a well developed sense of humour and one of them bought the other a skimpy Borat-style swim suit.

They were all in the pub last Thursday having a church meeting when one of the curates shows a photo on his mobile, of his friend in the swimsuit. The guy with the mental issues thought it was a naked photo, peed himself and went into some sort of shock. His carers have gotten the Police involved and the poor guy has accused the church of grooming him ready for some sort of Satanic gang bum-orgy.

My brother has gotten Sentamu involved and we are still waiting to see what happens next
