This is the BBC remember. The conclusions will be that the ICTs provide a vital service in combating the skill shortage and are paid at rates higher than local workers. Nobody has been displaced and anyone that complains could never hold down the job for long anyway, is a social misfit, member of the BNP and a child killer. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

One of my biggest concerns is that we are giving contracts to foreign companies in the first place and my prime example at the moment would b ethe proposed new Nuclear power stations. I understand these are to be built by a French firm and I have no doubt they will import their own workers. So billions will be paid to a foreign firm and we wont even recover any tax. Any skills we might have wont be utilised and those with those skills will be either unemployed or working beneath their skill level.
* Isn't Gordon Browns brother a director of a French energy company?
edit: So go shove your attempt at racist innuendo in u endo.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

There are some people I would consistently rely on to come out of the woodwork with anything like this, you and TE are two of them.
The argument may well be valid, but sure as tulip attracts flys it also gets sucks in every bigot with a rant to relay.Hang on - there is actually a place called Cheddar?? - cailin maith

Re skill, retrain - accept the fact we live in a globalised world and do something about it other than whinge and rail to get protection - it won't happen and we'll just lose the jobs anyway.Originally posted by expat View PostAdapt? Nobody in this thread has said anything remotely racist. If someone has experience of Indian ICTs then that is real experience, not racist experience.
How would you suggest those construction workers at the TOTAL plant adapt to being unemployed due to POLISH ICTs.I am not qualified to give the above advice!
