I attended the Partick Thistle V Airdie match on Saturday, very poor quality football and they did not look very nice.

A late goal from Airdire put paid to Thistles promotion hopes whilst lifting Airdire from the relegation zone.

Congrats to all the Sunderland ladies - I think they did us all proud.

And one of them used to work in my local pub!

They defended quite well and the woman who won the 'man' of the match deserved it.

They were hopeless going forward though.

When I was 16, my school has a trainee P.E. teacher who was a ladies football internationalist (11 years ago). At that time it was clear when she joined in our game that all the competent players in the class were miles better than her.

I suspect the standard has improved a bit since then, but my amateur team could still beat them. We could also give them a good seeing to in the showers after.
