History is written by the victors, hence much of the Thatcher years is misrepresented - like the claim that she cut taxes when she actually increased them.

Do you direct or indirect tax?

You cannot deny that she reduced the number of tax bands and simplified the system.....

Dunno, but I had the option of History or Spanish.

Of course that was Real History in those days, not the touchy feely crap they teach now.
Do you teach your students the touch feely stuff? What about the lustee?

You mean learning the dates of irrelevant factoids? On which day and in which year did Lord Futtlethuck of Brougham-Stick roger the Spanish Infanta Ms Josephina des Syphiles?

I'm glad I opted for geography instead.

Yes, but they followed it with incompetence, and did not do anything when the economy was obviously overheating. Their taxing, borrowing and bingeing boom now has to be paid for with cuts to services. Sad but predictable as usual with Labour.

How patronising. If you lost your job what would you do? sit at home and feel sorry for yourself and expect someone else to find you work?

No, they followed it to the letter and this is where it ends up and this is where it would have ended up with a Tory government. How soon people forget the mess they made of the economy!.

It's not patronising, whole communities were thrown on the scrapheap, unemployment tripled under her. That's not the mark of good governance.
