Could you look a bit further out and get the dart in/out everyday ?

      agree with Mustang.

Stay on the outskirts of the city centre if you can. You'd go stir crazy in a place like Bray.

avoid the North of the Liffey at all costs!!

Will check out the dart and costs, etc.

If that's ok, do you have any recommendations?
I've stopped in a few B&B's in Clontaf and some nice hotels.

The Castle is a lovely place, but very expensive.

15 mins into the city from there.

Anywhere on the Hoath Road will be easy accessible to the city.

Stayed at the Grand in Malehide a few times. Also the conrad or westbury but they may be a tad pricey if you're paying for yourself.

North of the liffey isn't that bad, it's just a bit rough and ready.

For the record I am a southsider but with family on the north side.

Westbury is lovely! Feels very old school.

I don't want to cause offence Cailin, but the North side is a hole!

whereabouts on the south side are you from? I lived in Milltown for 6 months and Ballycullen (Firhouse) for 2.5 years.

                Ok - it's a bit of a hole then....

Lived in Donnybrook till we moved out to the sticks.

Wow - loads of answers, and a hint at what the locals are like (thanks cailin ) ... I'm paying for the hotel myself and am going to be staying for a while, including weekends, got fed up with tubes and buses during time spent in London last year and so have checked around the Temple Hill area a bit..

Anybody know the Lombard? Got a good offer from there...
What do you mean - "not worth listening to"?! I just don't talk much, that's all
