I'd have gone out with the lads and kipped in a travelodge. (After putting the tent up and stuffing the sleeping bag with pillows)

I find it surprisingly rewarding. And yes, it was a surprise when I first started thinking that.

I think it is essential that you go into it as a partnership of equals though.

And these are all couples who've been together for like 10+ years, with kids. The kind of proper established couples who always seemed happy.
Take a step back and ask "why did these men cheat?"

Men cheat because women get complacent: married women get fat and/or alcoholic and/or lazy. And they stop putting out. At the same time they get whinier and needier about themselves and being loved.

Can you blame a man for cheating?

Most men stick with the marriage for the sake of the children, without whom they'd have bolted years ago.

              yep.
Plus women expect men to change then get a shock when they dont, men expect women not to change, then get a shock when they do

I been together over 10 years, I got 2 kids and I can see how people (Note it's not just men that cheat - I know a few women who have as well).

Should that mean the end of a relationship? I dunno, depends on the people and the circumstances - lot's of couple get over things like that. All relationships hit a rocky patch at some point. Bit hysterical to go fckin cheating men etc. Lot's of times it isn't quite as black and white as that.

Marriage is not for all & means different things to different people.
