Don't like the service they provide, don't use 'em.

There's no point buying your 99p McBurger and then complaining about the processed meat.

I simply cannot believe that they will charge people £5 for doing their job for them. Seriously.... I'm pretty speechless.

Other airlines include the cost of desk staff and printing in the normal fee you pay. British Airways never offered me a discount for checking in online and only carrying hand luggage.
Ryanair offer cheap travel and are trying to reduce their costs accordingly.
A lot of their pricing is done to encourage people to take the most profitable option for Ryanair.

I use them, but I take them for what they are and I have no issues.

I do not understand why people use them and then complain. There are a few exceptions where Ryanair have obfiscated a few things.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

                  Futhermuckers, the lot of 'em.

The O'Leary twunt at the head of Ryanair ... has a face I'd never tire of punching.

Isn't this one of them? If I am not mistaken, there is no way of getting on the plane without using one of their checkin methods, all of which now bear a fee. Therefore it is not possible to avoid this cost, so it is dishonest to show fares without it. (This is different from there being extra charges for airport checkin or forgotten pass etc)
