...removing catalytic converters from all 4x4s is the answer to solving the Earth's climate issues? Honestly, those bl00dy tree hugging environmentalists have destroyed this planet in the last twenty years. Must do my bit for the planet tonight and rev my engine extra hard at the lights.

Well, catalytic converters are a pretty dumb idea if you want to 'save the planet'.

1) The way they work cause a vehicle to burn more fossil fuels than if they weren't there.
2) The mining of the rare earth metals needed for the catalyst is an environmental catastrophe.
