Free I would think, chap is permie, I'm sure there is the threat of redundancy for not pitching in and there is no banking work whatsoever in Edinburgh.Originally posted by lambrini_socialist View Postand getting paid? or working those hours for free?Comment

I recognise so many with that description.
When not in meetings, the can usually be found trying to destroy the reputations of anyone they think is a threat to themselves - unless they're riding on their efforts - 'cos they're "managing" the workload

The banking/finance IT company I worked at opened a branch in Edinburgh based on saying there was stuff to be gained there specifically.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

When I look back, this is one of the reasons which justified the decision for me to go contracting.Originally posted by minestrone View PostActually know one guy in there who is really good and I think they have been flogging him to death for the last 6 months. Working 7 day weeks mostly.

I have this theory that about 25% of people that have been taken on by the banks to work at the technology coal face just cannot do the job. It is one thing passing a few java exams at Uni but that does not mean they can cut it on a 100,000 line hacked to shreds J2EE app. I have really started to notice that most big banks have a reject team where they just shuffle the spuds off to to keep them out the way, give them some low level work but tell them they are doing a great job and how important it is just so they never ask to get out.Originally posted by Ivor Bigun View Post

Unlikely, not entirely impossible that they will up the rates stupidly to make a profit, but I'd say that the odds were hugely against that.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostMy mortgage is with RBS. What does all this bad news mean for me?Comment
