I got stopped by a radio interviewer on Regent street this morning and was asked what I thought of the protests, for the first time I thought about it and didnt really have a clue what they were protesting about. Yeah I know there's a recession, are they protesting about that? WHat do they want to change?

Its all very exciting though - I may go and join them tomorrow just for the thrill. A mate got caught up in the one a few years ago in Trafalgar square and said it was the biggest buzz of his life

well i think it's your basic large, angry mob, isn't it? a stupidly wide range of grievances from the inane (the "9/11 truth" brigade), to ordinary folks who are hacked off about their decimated pensions, insecure jobs and suchlike. it's really lazy to write them all off as "crusties", although i can see how that makes the whole thing less ambiguous and challenging to comprehend for a certain type of person.

Sort of reminds me of the "Romanes Eunt Domus" sketch that.

5min ago nothing new had happened. RBS windows (giant ones) on Threadneedle St broken, protesters going inside and nicking PCs or throwing them at the windows.

It's safe to assume that all these banks have massive internal security so workers on upper floors are safe, right?

They certainly did when I worked in one a few years back.

Expect magnetic locks and swipe card systems to get around inside. Wouldn't expect them to get past the ground floor, if that.
