Boomed-ish. Good to see mortgages being provided again, but people aren't getting the silly amounts that they were before, and that was what was driving the prices up.

Some way down to go yet I fear.

What I find amazing is that anyone is actually BUYING houses right now. They must be nuts!

Would not have thought getting a mortgage approval meant you executed it (bought a property). May be a daft comment but have never bought a house in the UK.

Must be a return to "normal" on the housing market.

The critical question is 19% up from how many?

19% of a big number is quite a lot, 19% of a small number amounts to bugger all.

Stating a percentage increase is a classic "lies, damn lies and statistics" tactic that is thoroughly deceptive.

                Indeed.

Mortages fall from 10,000,000 to 2 and then rise to 3. Boomed! Mortgages rise 50%.

...but surprise surprise, a bit of potentially brighter news (albeit a very small piece) doesn't appear to have made it to the BBC website. Unless it is well hidden.

                  Funny ol' thing eh?
