    Got replaced by ICL VME

Calling PLAN a programming language was pushing it, even back in them days.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
threadeds website, and here's my blog.

The likes of Threaded and fellow mainframers long ago transcended the mundanity of so called working, thanks to our immense and encyclopediac knowledge we can spend much of our days ponitifacting on baords like these whilst charging exhorbitant rates with a straight face.

You young ones will have to do the donkey work on a minimum rate and impress management and all that nonsense ...

Right ... back to work donkeys ...

No not yet, there is still plenty of work sorting out crap systems written by school kids who do not understand the basics like tight and loose coupling, backup and recovery, integration etc.

that's just the point these days we don't have to spend time on the intricacies of creating the bestest most efficient code

we just just throw more ram and processors at the problem

see, you're already out of touch with your methods of working

perfecting code, where does it end, you can perfect code to the nth degree

better in today's world of cheap memory and processors and expensive developers to get the code working and then tune the server

then if the project allows enough time keep an eye on the most processor intensive scripts and programs and have a look at them when time permits

                it's a different world today old-timer

How many ways do you know to zero the accumulator using PLAN?

Probably not as many as you, I am a J2EE man these days.

But go on, just for nostalgia give use some ideas.

Milan, try looking up accumulator in the dictionary and tell us what it is.

To try and help you I will try and give you a clue e.g. it is not a battery

                      ancient,

I don't need to know about the old stuff

I make my money riding the wave of new tech, never needing to know everything because the stuff is so new and then onto the next
