They are advising us to evacuate. Should I laugh in the face of danger and stay put?

I traveled the 120 miles into work without to much of a problem.
Only 2 other permies made it in and they have now gone home leaving ME to hold the fort until 6.30 tonight.

I can't get home very easily as the trains are screwed now but they did put me up in a swanky hotel (all paid for) so it's not all bad.

Lovely walk across Hampstead Heath to get the tube, followed by an eerily quiet Northern Line to central London. Was told to go home early and now I'm back home with my feet up having billed full day

Went home at 13:30 as looked like a blizzard where I'm based.

it snows most days here in Munich, haven't missed a day yet although i did think about it the other day when i forgot my gloves.

however, tomorrow there is a public transport strike and all taxi's are fully booked.. so a kind young lady in the office has offered to give me a lift..

Just got as far as the airport. No sign of any snow here but KLM have cancelled the flights cos the planes are stranded elsewhere.

Allegedly Sleazyjet have just dumped the Bristol passengers in Cardiff, no onward bus arranged and the trains aren't running. Fckers!

Went to doctor's to collect the sick note he promised me on Friday that would mean I don't have to go in. He had not made it in; there was no letter. So I went to ClientCo.

All the contractors were in. All the filing clerks and admin assistants were in. There was no management presence.

Wuss. When we had that snow like this in the early 1990s, I was commuting on my Honda CB100 from Enfield to Hemel Hempstead.

On one occasion my gloves had iced up so much I could not bend my fingers to apply the clutch or hand brake; that was exciting as I approached the roundabout where the ex-M1 traffic was whizzing across!

On another, I saw someone on a moped on the other side of the road in distress. I u-turned and checked he was OK. He had been out about 5 minutes and was crying from the pain in his fingers from the cold. Poof.

I had thought about getting back to work this week, but this weather is obviously a sign from the Gods to not do such thing. I’m gonna take it easy for another week.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
