Hosting/data center business for plan B?
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light. -

I think there is actually a company called "Plan B" that does this kind of stuff already. Will attach a linky if I get round to finding it.Originally posted by Francko View PostAny successful story here? Too risky? Too small margins? Anybody else has ever consider it?Comment

Is it? I thought a bit of decentralisation would help the quality of service nowadays...Originally posted by expat View PostYears too late?I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.Comment

You need a USP
Some mates of mine set up an ISP about 7 years ago. Not making a great amount of money but surviving.
They have dedicated space in a VERY secure data centre (they know a man etc) and that is their selling point, to actually create a data centre costs a lot of money.
Too many 'become an ISP in a day' offers out there to supply mediocre or non niche services.
Obviously IMHO, but to compete you need something special.Comment
