The first 3 sound like tracking. Nailed a kerb recently...?Originally posted by Wilmslow View PostTook the Focus back yet again. They have had the car for two days.
Problems I reported (since the power steering pump was replaced)
1. Uneven front passenger tyre wear
2. Vague feeling on motorway speeds
3. Vibrating steering wheel (not road feel, but, actually vibrating)
4. Dry creaky noise over speed bumps.
5. Occasional knocking noise when changing down gears (sounding like loose tie ends).ǝןqqıʍComment

I vote we have a whip round for enough cash to send Wilmslow to Edinburgh so he can be taken into care then forcibly adopted by two gay men.Comment

Indeed. What age and mileage is this motor?Originally posted by DiscoStu View PostThe first 3 sound like tracking. Nailed a kerb recently...?
Track rod ends wear, and give play in the wheels. This is easily spotted so the garage should pick up on this.
You can track and balance all you like, if the TREs are worn it'll drive like a boat.
The knocking sound coming down the gears is of more concern. Any whining when its cold?Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.Comment

It's a Focus. It's not designed for long motorway journeys. Should only really be used for dropping the kids off at school and a weekly trip to the supermarket.Guy Fawkes - "The last man to enter Parliament with honourable intentions."Comment
