    point ?

    don't you ever get bored?
I have read the T&C's and it definately does not state that threads must have a point.
Blooming heck , if things had to have a point, my post count would be about 10.

    maybe 9

What does it care about CO2 emissions over here. Not much I reckon

How very quantum-relativist of you. Reality is more that we percieve the lower 3 dimensions like looking into a hologram of a hyper sphere.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

The case for other dimensions has been made but not proven. However, I do love the 'flat-world' analogy

Whenever life gets you down, Mr EO
And things seem hard or tough
And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft
And you feel that you've had quite eno-o-o-o-o-ough

                Just remember
                that you're standing
                on a Planet
                that's evolving
                And revolving
at nine hundred miles an hour.

Thas orbiting at ninety miles a second
                so it's reckoned,

A sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me
and all the stars that we can see

Are moving at a million miles a day
                In an outer spiral arm
at forty thousand miles an hour,
                Of a Galaxy

                we call the Milky Way.

                Our Galaxy itself
                contains a hundred billion stars;
                It's a hundred thousand light-years side to side;
It bulges in the middle sixteen thousand light-years thick,
But out by us it's just three thousand light-years wide

                We're thirty thousand

                light-years from Galactic Central Point,

We go 'round every two hundred million years

And our galaxy itself is only one of millions of billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding,
In all of the directions it can whiz
As fast as it can go
                the speed of light
                you know
                Twelve million miles a minute

and that's the fastest speed there is.

                So remember
when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth!

When I was a permie at a company that sacked 50 people in one day, I put this song on the stereo in my office. The last two lines did a marvellous job of cheering everybody up.

The other comedy scene that never fails to make me laugh, even at the darkest of moments is the Two Ronnies’ ‘F.U.N.E.X’ sketch; don’t know why but it just helps to see the absurdity of life.

                      Aye Mitch

Me too - whenever I get a bit down Galaxy Song soon has me roaring with laughter.

Mind you - did anybody watch the 'Death of the Universe' prgram the other night - not only is the Universe expanding but its increasing in velocity as well - alarmingly so they reckon its all to do with Dark Energy.

So how will the Universe End ?

This got me thinking - Big Bang seems to have happened some 14 billion years ago.

I remember reading a wee Hindu story of the creator Brahmin, apparently the Universe as we know it is merely a dream projection or Hologram of Brahmin and when he awakes the Universe - well it will be as if we never existed at all.

Now heres the rub -it turns out that the Day of Brahamin ( I think the call it Kulpas or cycles) works out at about 6-7 Billion years old - so right now we have almost completed the Day of Brahamin - which means - MY GOD WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE !!!!

Have the new papercliips arrived Enid ?
Yes - Theyre over in the drawer Mr Pruffock
