bit of a cliche, maybe he might enjoy the lord of the rings?

or any books by Eoin Culfer, my nephews enjoyed them.

The LotR volumes were a given - I just wanted to clarify that we had some Artemis Fowl books too

His main interest is W40K at the moment, so ideally I'd like to find something of that genre for him.
