Just finished Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

    I enjoyed it.

Just purchased Bad Science by Ben Goldacre (recommended on here a few weeks ago) and The Epic of Gilgamesh (Penguin Classic) not sure why.

They *should* be able to order any book you want as long as the library service have it somewhere in the UK.

Just finished 'The Moonstone' by Wilkie Collins
I really enjoyed it, it's supposed to be the 'first' detective story. If you like 19th century literature, I recommend it. It is quite funny in parts.
And before that I read 'The steep approach to Garbadale' by Iain Banks. which i also enjoyed and has inspired me to read more of his books.
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

didn't you find the ending to the Iain Banks book a tad creepy?

To be honest I'd suspected that they were actually brother and sister, so It didn't come as a shock, but I did find most of the characters quite unpleasant. Still enjoyed the story though and it means I have all his other books to catch up on now, so that should keep me quiet for a bit. I guess that's one bonus of being bench-bound, I'm reading a couple of books a week at the mo.

Try Espedair Street, my favourite Banks book by far.

The Moonstone is brilliant. Never liked anything else by Collins much tho.

Iain Banks is always creepy. Tedious and creepy.

Otherwise Shantaram is a pretty good book

'The woman in white' is really good too.
