How would being rich change your life?

Precisely. Surely if you enjoy life and have enough to get by today while putting something aside for later, you’re as rich as you need to be? How many flat screen TVs, slightly newer with even more horsepower cars, Rolexes and Wiii-thingummyjigs does it take to make a miserable person happy? And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? I tried that once, and my closest family tried telling me which houses and cars to buy and what investments to make. In other words, they were trying to spend it for me.Originally posted by chris79 View PostAlso if I did become 'rich' I certainly wouldn't go around telling anyone personally, only my very closest family.
Never again.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

If I had millions in cash, then there are more good things that I could do than I can at the moment.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostPrecisely. More about what I could do to help others enjoy life rather than what I could do for myself.Comment

WHSOriginally posted by oracleslave View PostIf I had millions it would enable me to:
1. Do a job I actually enjoyed as opposed to one that paid well.
2. Knock on effects of 1 above are increased holidays, family time, less stress, improved education, quality of life for kids etc etc.
3. I would change the amount of time I spend doing things that contribute to society i.e. I would do charity work, help underpriviledged kids etc etc.
4. I wouldn't buy a flash car but I would certainly go for a bigger/better house.

I would get my teeth repaired. Would get a Tummy Tuck of some sort. I would put a lot of money into investments and probably look at getting married with a legally enforceable pre-nup. I wouldn't retire (well.. never say never). I would probably push up my pension a bit. If I have enough money left over, I may consider doing some VC stuff (Dragon Den's style).Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostIf you were to make millions, how would your life improve? Apart from a bigger house and a flasher car, I can't think what would be better. If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.Comment
