I did! But as Moses was walking down the mountain, some bloke in a time-travelling lambo appeared and nicked it

Good grief, Chico, wouldn't it have been easier and probably more convincing just to point out that God's apparent standoffishness isn't something to criticise, as that Satan character claims, but a blessing in giving us freedom of choice - as opposed to Satan holding his followers in bonded servitude once he has snared them?

Not saying I believe all that literally myself, but surely you've grasped by now that CUK readers aren't impressed, and certainly not swayed (if anything the reverse), by reams of "boilerplate" dogma.

Owlhoot I tell it as it is. As you should know by now, I am not bothered if the CUK readers are impressed or not.

Look at the covers of magazines in bookstores and supermarkets. They are "soft-core" pornography, which a few years ago was considered hard-core and hidden from young eyes. Think of video games that kids crave--many are extremely violent and sexually perverted. Think of some rock music, with its explicit sexuality, its blasphemy, and its dark Satanic side. Consider the Internet's multi-billion dollar hard-core porn industry, or how the average person uses filthy words and blasphemy in everyday speech. Life in the dirty pigsty is normal, natural, and completely acceptable.

Interesting to reflect that pornography and hard rock are completety forbidden in Iran , would you agree Chico that the Islamic Republic of Iran is more aware of the influence and danger of Satanism and as as such are they , in this context, morally superior to the Christian nations for the enforcement of these restrictions ?

Damn right. When I was an adolescent we had to plonk off over pictures of women in bikinis. The world has changed greatly for the better in my view.

Oh, yeah, I blame Doom for all crimes in the world. How can you say that and keep a straight face at the same time?

Why? Do you want to borrow some CDs? What kind of music are allowed to listen, Chico? Evangelic, XVIII chorus? (of course, that was ironic)
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

According to the founder of the Church of Satan, heavy metal and rock music aren't Satanic. In his view true Satanic music 'heightens the senses and awareness'. From what I remember, examples are jazz and organ music.

I believe Britney Spear's music is Satanic. It's certainly diabolical.

A typical confusion of the religious.

Sex is somehow immoral - then they advance wholly practical reasons - AIDS, VD, unmarried mothers etc. in support of this contention.

Eating unwisely causes even more problems - heart disease, diabetes, strokes, chronic obesity etc but we do not draw the conclusion that eating is immoral - rather we advance practical solutions to make sure people eat sensibly in a way that does not endanger their health.

However, I do not agree with c on the subject of violent material. Sure, a violent movie does not turn a "normal" person into a crazed killer etc etc. but "normal" covers a wide range and most people will draw their idea of what is acceptable from the society they see around them.

Also if you proscribe such material, then you are removing the free-will to avoid the temptation.
