Same here. But I am now finding myself being selective on what roles I go for, even though I'm not contracting. Am trying to tell one agency that I don't want to go forward for one of the roles because of the DV Clearance requirement. He's so far not taking no for an answer. I am hoping that my previous experience will persuade the agency to back off a bit.

I don't know if I want to go for an Information Assurance role. Sounds too hands off for my experience.

Maybe that article on the CUK homepage is right about a surge in demand possible due to system issues if interest rates hit zero percent.

Then again, maybe the BOE will just set it to 0.01% to avoid the problem.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

I have a problem persuading agents to put me forward for DV roles, I've had it in the past so it would be a formality, another problem is the agent I'm currently with not putting me forward roles I want to pursue because I'm already contracted to them, ordinarily that would be fair enough but the role I have now is utter bollox.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Haven't signed anything yet but am expecting to be back here 5th Jan for another 6 months.

Been looking for a new year start over the last week and it's been manic.

Had 2 phone interviews, 1 yesterday, 1 today, both offered and I turned one down. No tulip.

And I was expecting it to be uber dead out there

Out of work as I gave up looking end of Nov after 3.5 weeks - not concerned as have a few things that should come to fruition mid Jan to end of Jan.

Permies and contractors are been fired at the avionics co. I work for in the new year.

I know a few contractors who have been out of work for 9 months.

                    Thing look bleak.

Of course if you are in finance things are probably good.

Similar to everyone else, I've had agents beating a path to my door. I turned down twelve offers and signed up for another two years at my current client on triple the money.

Plan B is in fruition but only making a couple of million a year so I can't make the leap yet. Not until I've finished sorting out plans C, D and E anyway.
