    Demanding childlike simplicity again.

There is no evidence for a supernatural being because by definition that means the being is "beyond" nature. And the only tools we have available are the ones we have fashioned from within nature. Ergo, there is no way to prove the existence of God.

That is why it is called faith.

      does that make sense?
Sort of. I certainly wouldn't look down on someone for believing in a god. You might be right. I might end up in damnation for eternity, which, in the immortal words of Rowan Atkinson, is 'a very long time'. But then again, I might be right, and it would be rather nice if everyone were to consider the possibility that the other side's right. We might have less wars and general nastiness if we actually try to se the world through other people's eyes, if only for a day.

The 9/11 hijackers had faith. So they must have been right then?

No need for such personal questions.

Hell is being a permie and spending eternity in an annual performance review. It finishes and you leave the room, only to walk into another room where you find your line manager sitting there ready to start the review again... and again... and again...

It's not personal. If you really believe then you must follow the rules - otherwise isn't it a kind of having your cake and eating it?
