Some people will compare Hamilton's £30 million a year with Adlington's £15,000 a year, many think Adlington's achievement was greater, Adlington has more personality...

Hoy got one more gold medal than her.

He rode a bike round a track faster than the other guy(s). IIRC, only one event was weird, where you benefit from stopping.

I hope its not one of the scrounging olympians for whom the tax payer has to stump up the cash to keep them "training" around the world for four bl00dy years...

I hope it IS a scrounging olympian, because if they win it they will make a small fortune and pay us back in taxes.

I reckon it will be the last event (because people forget things) that was watched by the most people on the telly.

            Ergo, Lewis Hamilton.

            Good.

Yes, and at least they achieve something with their subsidies, unlike the rest of NuLabour's huge wastes of money.

I've no idea if she has a personality, but I'd give it to Rebecca Romero for winning medals in two sports.

Personally I'm already sick of the sight of Team GB, they are literally popping up on every station. Expect so see one of them next yeat (if they are still "popular" by then) on I'm a celeb.....etc....etc

That said, I'd give it to Hoy for his unique achievement, even though he hates the English, Murray is a laughable vote, and Lewis won't get it because of the fact that nobody likes a winner. We only put them up so we can knock them down again.

Dunno about sports personality of the year, but Joe Calzaghe could be a contender. Unlike Lewis, he didn't do it by having the best car.

Didn't he win it last year?
