That may be their purpose, and a very laudable purpose it is too, but do MOTs fulfill that purpose? I'm not so sure they do.I'm Spartacus. -
The only available alternative is what they do in the USA -- no MOTs whatsoever.Originally posted by Spartacusdo MOTs fulfill that purpose? I'm not so sure they do.Comment

Did that musician guy ever tell you whether he was an oyster man or a snail merchant? He was a bit evasive when Crassus asked.Originally posted by SpartacusMaybe I'm cynical, but after what Crassus did to me, are you surprised?Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Well, the world is pretty much your oyster when you're as loaded as Crassus. I've heard that all the nice slave boys like a flash geezer.Originally posted by OwlHootDid that musician guy ever tell you whether he was an oyster man or a snail merchant? He came to a bad end though after the Battle of Carrhae [sp?], when Parthian tribesmen killed him by pouring molten gold down his throat, and later used his head as a prop in a Greek play.Originally posted by SpartacusWell, the world is pretty much your oyster when you're as loaded as Crassus. MOT in US
AtW just a quick note: they DO have MOT's in the US - they are called "State Inspections" and, like here, the kick in once a car is 3 years old (that may vary from state to state).
The debatable thing in the US is whether they are worth it. The standard is not as high as here and there is a much higher percentage of cars that haven't had one.Comment

Amazing how often the laws on all sorts of things are almost exactly the same in all major countries. If this is not proof of a giant global conspiracy I don't know what is.
PS Two pages and not a single sensible reply about vans. Just as i said, I have not read any of them.Last edited by xoggoth; 17 September 2005, 08:19.bloggoth

Nah, that's a load of sensationalist nonsense put about by that tabloid hack Dio Cassius. Crassus was killed in a scuffle with Surena and some of his men when the Roman prisoners refused to let him be released unaccompanied.Originally posted by OwlHootHe came to a bad end though after the Battle of Carrhae [sp?], when Parthian tribesmen killed him by pouring molten gold down his throat, and later used his head as a prop in a Greek play.I'm Spartacus.Comment

Not old enough for MOT? Sorry, I should have said CHEAP VANS Sub 3k and even stretching to that would kill me. Not because I haven't got £3k but because I hate spending money as a matter of religious principal.bloggoth

2) Mazda 6 AWD 2.3
3) Ceverlot Hi ho lander
