Well if I don’t know what they’re trying to say then I don’t know whether I agree. Obviously I don’t agree with their methods, but I can’t help thinking of the time when Sinn Fein were censored; it was as if the government were afraid that some British people might agree with some of their aims, while being opposed to their methods. It’s always worthwhile to try and understand the message, even though the terrorists have to be stopped.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014
As I understand it, the Islamists are peeved with modernity. They hark back to a golden age when Islamic culture was the best in the world (as indeed it was in terms of tolerance and learning) and wonder why they're not the dominant culture any more.
They're too stupid to understand that's it's their blind adherence to a medieval religion with no adaptation whatsoever that has led to their current backwardness and that when they were great they adopted exactly the values the west now has - tolerance and openness to new ideas. The irony is deep.
Idiotic cretins.

Well if that's the case then I don't agree with them. Unless of course they're peeved with western banking practises, in which case...

They were censored to stop them getting publicity.
But one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Does this conflict ever remind any of you Frank Herbert's and story "Dune"?
Dune is set in the far future amidst a sprawling feudal interstellar empire where planetary fiefdoms are controlled by noble Houses that owe allegiance to the Imperial House Corrino. The novel tells the story of young Paul Atreides (heir apparent to Duke Leto Atreides and scion of House Atreides) as he and his family accept control of the desert planet Arrakis, the only source of the spice melange, the most important and valuable substance in the universe. The story explores the complex and multilayered interactions of politics, religion, ecology, technology, and human emotion, as forces of the Empire confront each other for control of Arrakis and its spice...a male Messiah who will one day come and transform Arrakis to a more hospitable world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dune_(novel)
