We called it 50-up, because a count of 50 head-start was given. Best were the Winter months because it was more fun to play in the dark. You had to get back to a start point (a tree usually), without being tagged. Or maybe just seen, if it was someone slow.

I can't think of any others right now. Kids before def entertained themselves better outdoors than now. MY kids think I'm mad when I try to explain British bulldogs and suggest they go out and try it.
We used to do a lot more than I see kids doing today (though I live in a quiet area which might explain some of it), such as swimming in the river. I never see the ipod/console generation doing that these days.

No, it involves a copy of the Liverpool echo. Take it into the school gates, where it's dark and noone can see youse.
Do a big dung in the paper, then put it on someones doorstep, fold the edges over and light them. Knock on the door an run.
Try not to split yer sides as you imagine the poor victim stamping on the paper trying to put it out...

I'm trying! FFS I'm supposed to look like I'm working here!

        Two Stupid games (in hindsight)

First one involved a Gatt gun loaded with a dart, usual ten second count while you ran before getting shot in the arse.

Second was even more violent, involved a square at school with walls on 3 sides and a tennis ball. You had to kick the ball with one touch and it had to hit a wall. Anyone caught it without hitting the floor or wall meant you had to run a chicken run. Basically through two lines where you got kicked and punched. Brilliant
