As a child did you go "cherry knocking" (ringing a doorbell and running away).

If yes, at what age did you give it up?

        Echo-ing ?

No, it involves a copy of the Liverpool echo. Take it into the school gates, where it's dark and noone can see youse.
Do a big dung in the paper, then put it on someones doorstep, fold the edges over and light them. Knock on the door an run.
Try not to split yer sides as you imagine the poor victim stamping on the paper trying to put it out...

            Hi all,

Have enjoyed reading the post over the week and thought I'd join in.

Here's what we did in the South of England. Up till about the age of 15 I think.

Knock down Ginger.... Same as your knocking on the door and running.
Pooh bagged .... Same poo trick (not that I ever did that)
British bulldogs..... could be quite violent, but a lot of fun
44 .... Another hide and seek game

I can't think of any others right now. Kids before def entertained themselves better outdoors than now. MY kids think I'm mad when I try to explain British bulldogs and suggest they go out and try it.

                Putting fireworks through letter boxes.

                Setting fire to dustbins.

                Kicking over swill pails.

                Oh, what merry japes.

I hope you got a clip round the ear.

Our favourite was using a discarded drainpipe and a bottle rocket as a bazooka. Gave a whole new dimension to playing Brits vs Germans.

Quite how nobody ever got 2nd degree burns I'll never know.

I lost me eyebrows doing that. The gunny from 50 bangers in a brilcream jar nearly blew the local brick factory into the Irish Sea
