I press the <TAB> key and my code editor inserts 4 <spaces>.

Some editors will convert tabs to spaces automatically. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to re-tab everything with spaces when revisiting source code (possibly in a different editor - and probably because I wasn't consistent), so I would go for 3 spaces per indent.

Spaces. Tabs mean that when you move between editors, the code is screwed, which is particularly bad when you look at it in vi.

Spaced-out on tabs. Ah! My student days.

Tabs, you can't smoke a space. But then you can't park in a Tab
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Reminds me of a joke that.

I know, my jokes often remind people of jokes

I though all modern code editors did all the indenting rubbish for you. Even the SAP one does.
