    I have no sympathy. If she was so hard up she should not have chucked that necklace off the back of the ship.

        The question is, could more passengers have survived but for the availability of modern technology. I speak of none other than the bin liner. Would a roll of bin liners buy you a few hours in freezing water? Say one tied around each leg, another around the torso and another for holding necklaces, watches, gold teeth, etc. And a few more for floatation.

          It'd take a big puff to inflate them all, so you'd have been indispensable.
