About bloody time. I can't find an NHS dentist anywhere. Oh some get listed as NHS, but in practice this is only for examinations. Any treatment needed as a result, is private only. Is that a racket or what?Originally posted by moorfield View Post -

If you can't find a dentist, ring NHS direct who can tell you who is taking on in your area.

I did, with the result that I described: they sent me to a dentist who is taking on NHS patients - but who will not do most of the treatment on the NHS, only the examinations. Bizarrely, NHS Direct classify that as "taking on new NHS patients". I really need "taking on new NHS patients, and treating them on the NHS", and NHS Direct cannot tell me which dentists might do that.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostComment

You just went to a bad dentist. Most "NHS dentists" have more private work e.g. mine does NHS 1 day per week.
