I have a shamateur feeling we are in for a really big crash day at some stage.
ermmm....Have you been living in a cave for the last month? Every day's a big day. Check the volatility.

And all that denial/capitulation stuff may have been valid in 2001 but it is an amateur mistake to assume it is still a valid model.
    Bored.

HMG are going to part-nationalise all banks that require recapitalisation. That is not good news for bank shareholders at all, but it is good for HMG because they will reap major gains in the upturn. It makes good sense for them to do it.

So I am not surprised that shares are falling.

No I think the trick is to know when that day comes is it just the start of a longer decline ( ie. 30s or Japan style ) or do you pile in.

In the Sunday Times yesterday they had a list of Bear V Bull pundit predictions, widely varying predictions, some very very uber duber DOOMED.

Nope, following it is my current chosen mode of distraction from the grim boring day to day life of an IT contractor.

When I say a really big crash day I'm talking 15% in day, were you won't be getting a two day bounce back.

Can I ask the experienced traders out there if there are any good websites they recommend for breaking news / daily updates/ financial info? I use newsnow -just wondering if there are any other good ones out there?

I subscribe to CNBC on the net. They get a lot of breaking news before others do.

CNBC is the Daily Mail / Sun of the financial world. The US version is anyway.

For a time in the US we could only get CNBC and it did my head in.

Cramer can be funny but he talks a load of <Expletive>.

Thankfully, I have Bloomberg on both sides now.
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

He laughed and called me and idiot especially as the index rallied to 13,000. Last week he commented that my view point was likely to come true. I haven’t told him I’ve taken about 1000 points off my expectations.
I've just been told that if the Dow gets to 9800 today that he is going to jump on a plane tonight and come round my house and give me a kicking.

Pundits I (now) respect call S&P bottom at 600, FTSE 100 3500. I think they're a bit bullish on the FTSE.

                      Today:
                      Dow -273.75 -2.65% 10,051.63
                      NASDAQ -54.19 -2.78% 1,893.20
                      S&P -25.85 -2.35% 1,073.38
