That's 88 bhp per litre, the s2000 has 120 bhp per litre

a better comparison on engine size would be the 2.2 litre which a megre 80 bhp per litre.

    autocar testest the 2.2 0-60 as 7.7 secs, s takes 5.8

Less desirable I expect or because there are so many. The same year z4 is worth less than my honda

You show your ignorance, the s2000 engine was new, it won engine of the year for 4 years beating BMW et al. The 2.2 z4 engine was straight out of the bmw 3 series, while good, hardly ground breaking. The s2000 engine is not out of any other honda.

There have been no Vtrec engine failures . The s2000 was JD power number 1 for customer satisfaction and reiability for 3 years on the run.

Don't get me wrong the Z4 isn't bad, it's just not as good.
Not too surprising you bought an S2000, clearly you are going to view it better than cars in the same camp. However, the Z4 is a better car on every level

Meanwhile, given the OP doesn't want an S2000 because they own one and given that you are getting rid of yours (so you have had enough) what would you propose as a good alternative???

I test drove the z4 and they were offereing big discounts to shift them, it was fairly dull and the ride quality is poor. Clarkson love him or loathe him picked the s over the z4 and boxster (although that was the old boxster).
I can't really compare it to the 3.0 litre z4 (although performance is similar) as that costed 6k more.

I'm getting rid of mine because I've had it for 3 years, I've never kept a car that long and not been bored of it. But I might as well sell with it's still 60% or so of the new cost.
I'd replace mine with the new Boxster if I wanted a new convertible.

I'm going for a coupe next time, maybe even a used m3 as their prices have fallen so much.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Love Clarkson but I don't rate his particular advice on certain cars (yes, I know he has driven more cars than me etc. but nevertheless he can be inconsistent), besides Hammond loved the Z4 and Hammond is pretty consistent!

I have an M3 and I think you could do a lot worse. Only suggestion as an alternative to the M3 would be an Audi RS.

Ugly looking car, but I bet it drives like a dream

              slated

He does that quite often i.e. criticises a car before driving it and then changing his mind.

yep, pretty inconsistent and not exactly a car regularly seen on the driveways of my street.

Like your throw on spelling of slated, I don't know why but your spelling gives the word an earthy feeling!

A big lottery win. Heard an interview on the radio on the way home today with some 18 year old from somewhere up north that just won 7 million big ones in the Euro millions. After a week all she had done was go out and have a milkshake with friends and had booked a holiday.

I hope someone tells her about the 35k limit per account
