The problem is if the plan is not agreed by this weekend it may be too late.
If it is not agreed by next weekend or compromised by "pork barreling" (not that is perfect at present) then it will be too late. It may be that by pushing this so hard the gov have backed themselves into a corner.
Buffet's strength is he does a lot of DD and picks under-valued companies. GS is now well on the way to becoming a major bank. IT firms are seeing valuations last seen in 1995! So there is value out there but the market trades largely on sentiment.
I would also say that the approach of "Buy & Hold" may no longer be valid.Bored.Comment

Eh !? If it's too late then GS are surely in the doo doo. I saw a list of the Co's that have so far gone under and it is those are over leveraged, the next down the list was GS.Originally posted by ace00 View PostThe problem is if the plan is not agreed by this weekend it may be too late.

Who knows? As soon as it goes up I sell. I'm not greedy, my strategy is to use predictable fluctuations to make a little here and there.Originally posted by rootsnall View PostI didn't say I believed that, I think they will announce the deal is done in the next week and there will be a rally. Gonna offer spreads on that?Originally posted by sasguru View PostThis time next week the FTSE will be over 5500.How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.
