“Those would be my concerns as well. Also, if a father did make such a provision, it could perhaps over-ruled by British courts. In Europe you CAN'T be disinherited, unless you've brought shame on the family. I was an executor for a will that was in dispute because nothing was left to”

There is no such inheritance law in England unlike France. You can leave what you like to whom you like. (But not joint assets). I was an executor to a Will and it took three years and £50k to sort out a dispute where someone disagreed with the share out.

No place in criminal law, but that's almost certainly sensationalist misreporting.

You are very naive. Do you honestly believe that muslim women want to be judged by a muslim divorce court instead of a British court to receive less money in a judgement than a man would? These women are not getting a fair deal and are obviously put under pressure to accept an unfair deal via a discriminatory process, or suffer the consequences.

I think that would be a failure in the existing justice system...

        /I knew I shouldn't have got involved.

[QUOTE=VectraMan;630225]If she didn't, then it wouldn't be legally binding. If she was in any way forced into it, or forced to accept it, then she'd have UK law on her side. A Muslim man who wants to oppress his wife wouldn't bother with the court, he can just do it anyway.

You again are being naive. Have you heard of 'honour killings' ? Any muslim woman denying Sharia law would be risking death.

            Too right.

Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime.

Because of course all muslims are exactly the same.

If anybody thought for a millsecond that the judgements of these courts was being enforced by death threats, they wouldn't be tolerated. Fortunately the vast majority of muslims, just like the rest of society, are capable of being reasonable and law abiding, and anybody who isn't should expect the full weight of UK law to fall on them.

Apologies if that's too much common sense for some to grasp.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

You have no commonsense Sir !! Far too many muslim women are frightened to speak out and have nowhere to hide. Your attitude and others like you allows this discrimination to continue.

No, they cut off their heads, so they don't even THINK about doing it again.
