Book an evening tour of Alcatraz. It's quite spooky in the dark...

I had a look into that. The night tour comes highly recommended.

I am surprised nobody even mentioned Castro, one of the nicest part of the town. You are a bunch of homophic gits, aren't you?
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

+ points for me when Halo and I visited last millenia :

                1. Architecture of some of the older houses is colourful and appealing
                2. Devil's Island : Absolutely a must see
                3. Quite a well stocked RPG shop in one of the districts
                4. Nice Japanese Garden in a park somewhere.

                - points

                1. Not much to do after visting Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 13 and Alcatraz
                2. An excessive amount of beggars, many aggressive and/or intimidating hanging on nearly every street corner. I felt safer in Times Square at 01:00 am than I did in SF at 12.00 pm
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Out of all the places I have visited in california, SF was the nicest/coolest. I think that's mainly because it's quite european in so much as you can walk around the place without being arested for j-walking
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Good advice. Just had a ribeye steak that could have fed a small town!

It has a nice bridge and gets a bit foggy. It's hilly. Dirty Harry lives there - along with Mike Stone and his partner Steve Keller. Shame they never teamed-up. Seismically active. Burns to the ground occasionally.
