.. and we invented marriage to enable our children to be nurtured in a stable and loving environment to benefit society. Let's get back to using that as a solid framework in order to rid us of today's chaos, crime an rising anarchy.Comment

Deterioration of eyesight is another example of survival of the fittest of the species. Older people become a burden on the collective group/tribe. Selection compensates for this by ensuring the person is more likely to be weeded out by ageing. That doesn't mean that the person hasn't succeeded in spreading their DNA into the gene pool, it means that the DNA they now have is not worthy of contributing."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

Old people don't survive because they are weak. It is nothing to do with any active agency deciding to select against their DNA. They are not assessed and weeded out to save the DNA, the tribe, or the planet. They just cop it.
There is no reason to speak as if there is an active hand in this, whether you call it selection, Mother Nature, or God. It just happens. Why describe it as if it were the act of a conscious mind?Comment

Deterioration is due also to environmental and dietary factors. Some people are way older than others and can still propagate the species, whereas the younger ones cannot. There is an element of individual choice here, because excess drinking, drugs, eating carp etc can all play a part in speeding deterioration with age, whereas exercise and a healthy diet can slow down that deterioration.Comment

I quite happily accept that ageing happens. However, why then do we grow old? Why do Humans live longer than dogs? Why does the Human body reach a prime and then deteriorate?
Regeneration is happening right now in the wild from the same original genome code we've evolved from.
Factors influence the Human ageing process and these factors show evidence of positive selection on the Human genome (those that had evolved quickly because of an adaptive benefit in the environment). That to me is evolution and I’m afraid I can’t explain it any better because I’m not a Biologist."I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. In London maybe, but as the majority of Londoners were not born in London it's hardly surprising. In the majority of cases I see on the news (of death by teenagers) the perps are white, and in most of the police docu-soaps the violent perps are white. Forget about colour, this country has always been violent. In the 19th century many parts of London were no-go zones where you could get garotted for a few farthings, I doubt those criminals were black. Yes, we have some pretty horrible white people in this country. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment
