I have noticed that a number of posters asking for advice or to locate something could have found the info/software/hardware with a simple google.

Are they lazy or thick?

What does the board think.

On a general level, most of the information can be easily obtained through other means, but that is not the reason for asking this forum. I frequently ask questions on this forum simply because I value the opinion and judgement of seasoned, educated and intelligent professionals. That's where the real 'added value' of asking this board is to be found.

For example, earlier today I asked a question about Pink Floyd, nothing to do with IT or contracting, but I know there are a few fans on this board. I've already obtained information to answer my question, but it's very useful to have a second opinion from someone I know usually provides sensible comments.

No I mean those people who say "where can I find" etc.
I dont mind the "what do you think" sort of stuf or "has anyone used" or "I found this and wondered"

from someone I know usually provides sensible comments.
