Hmmmm....that really depends on the question and the poster - hope you aren't referring to me
On a general level, most of the information can be easily obtained through other means, but that is not the reason for asking this forum. I frequently ask questions on this forum simply because I value the opinion and judgement of seasoned, educated and intelligent professionals. That's where the real 'added value' of asking this board is to be found.
For example, earlier today I asked a question about Pink Floyd, nothing to do with IT or contracting, but I know there are a few fans on this board. I've already obtained information to answer my question, but it's very useful to have a second opinion from someone I know usually provides sensible comments.
