              Get his band to accompany him airside and he could spend the next few months doing air-side gigs in every big airport in the world.

              He could even sell tickets on Ebay. Using airside internet cafes of course

                I think the original Glitter Band fell out with him in the 70s - IIRC they had a sort of "solo" career as the Glitter Band.
