Seems to me you're missing a golden opportunity there - it probably wouldn't cost much to throw up a few railway arches (no railway required, unless the punters are keen on "authenticity") and you could get decent boxes by following people home from Currys and going through their bins the next day.
Your mate could help you out with the railway bit, if he wasn't inside... maybe this was his Plan B?
