    Ah, the law of (foreseeable) unforeseen consequences. Just like the Uk goverment.

    The point was not that nasty athiests do bad things, rather that it isn't just the prerogative of the church!

      Indeed. My mother was most surprised to find that she was three months pregnant with me, as she was using an IUD. That was found embedded in the placenta when I was born...
      My point is that the Church has an unfair influence on the poorer people due to religious constraints and the fear and stigma of excommunication in a catholic community.
