The squint, the cocked eye and clenched first are the cornerstones of all Merseyside communication from birth to grave -
I have one of these:

Keeps the office nice and cool when it is sunny and all the machines are humming away. I did however install it myself which is a much cheaper option than getting a so called "professional" in to do it.Comment

Presumably I need an extra long drill to drill through the wall?Originally posted by Ardesco View PostI have one of these:

If easy enough to fit, think that will do me fine....
The gubbons will be in the front garden - easy enough to hide, or, not something to be covered? Thinking of some trellis type wood....Comment

gibbons
They'll have yer trellis off in no time. Perhaps a red handed tamarin would be more suitable?Comment

Indeed. In a football-style penalty line-up these fellas should conceal the external unit an absolute treat.Originally posted by basshead View Post

And, at Christmas, they could be dressed to recreate the Nativity scene. Ahhhh. The squint, the cocked eye and clenched first are the cornerstones of all Merseyside communication from birth to graveComment

Next time you go to an office with air conditioning, have a look outside at the big fan units bolted to the outside of the wall. That is what you will have bolted to your house (I would suggest situating it in the garden where the local chavs can't throw things at it).Originally posted by Wilmslow View PostPresumably I need an extra long drill to drill through the wall?

You are best off taking a brick out (cut the mortar away around it) and then cut the brick to fit and mortar it back in using some expandable foam and the putty they supply to fill in the gaps left over. I would suggest a good SDS drill with a cold chisel attachment to remove the mortar, but don't get too carried away, you will destroy the brick if you do

Oh i'm sure the made up mafia will nip into his garden in the middle of the night, rip it off the wall, stick a tube stuck to a car exhaust through the wall and leave the engine running while selling the part of air con that they have for scrap metal on the black market.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View Post

The fact it is round the back means they aren't likely to be disturbed, see I have thought of every angle
