Christian Theology obviously isn't your strong point is it Snaw? You'll have to source your argument from the New Testament. The OT law still applies, but rather in different ways.

The New Testament has things like:

"1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders"

So the anti-gay stuff is in the new testament as well?

And no, it's not a strong point - but wtf, I was attempting to point out that the bible takes a few views we find a bit odd. Cherry picking a few lines against homosexuals is a bit hypocritical.

Then again I personally find living your life according to the bible a bit odd.

yes but two wrongs don't make a right

          Or slavery, or adulterers etc.

If that's your line, then I assume you don't pick and choose, but instead agree with stoning disobedient children, adulterous wives and keeping slaves etc?
the morality of the Law is in-force
          it's not pick and choose
Law was given to specific people at specific point in time for a specific purpose of bringing forth the Messiah to save the world

OK so all of it. Stoning disobedient kids, adulterous wives etc.

Or you talking UK law, where it's perfectly legal to be homosexual?

The point is that Christian Theology as I understand it, is that you should consider everything in immediate context but also looking at all 66 books in the Bible as a whole - what is referred to as "the whole counsel of God". So debating these issues is somewhat more complex than simply isolated verses.

I've read much where Christians and non-Christians alike pick and choose to bolster their arguments. The annotated skeptics bible is a case in point. Though quite entertaining.

An argument could run along the lines that, according to the Council of Jerusalem (Acts:15), gentile Christians must refrain from

                    a) Idolatry
                    b) Sexual immorality
                    c) Eating animals that have been strangled
                    d) Eating blood

To find out what sexual immorality is, we read the OT, where, amongst other things, homosexual behaviour is listed.

Others may argue that the prohibition in the OT refers to temple prostitution, not private relationships.
