that reminds me, why are there so many old bangers down sarf? I thought you were all loaded down here. I don't see many cars over 5yrs old when I go home, here I'm seeing L and J reg cars. Cars you wouldn't get £50 for in my neck of the woods
Coz everyone down sarf is saving up to buy whole swathes of cheap property up north

Anyway joking aside, everything ok with the problem you were having?

There is alot of talk on the pistonheads forums about cheap cars at the moment.

This 4.2 V8 Toureg is one of the more remarkable bargains to be had write now. But there are many many others.

Many of you know I like my big 4x4s. I don't know whether this is as a result of my farming family background, or just that I am compensating for something. Anyway, I drove a Porsche Cayenne S (2004) and a BMW X5 4.4iS (2002) at the weekend. Both low mileage, full dealer service history, loads of options, etc…

The Cayenne was £19k and the X5 £13k. Not bad at all.

I was tempted to get both, but then I remembered that I wasn't Churchill.

They're quite juicy, but you can get ones that are a lot worse. I don't do many miles so not a huge consideration.

Agree they would be a poor (or rather expensive) choice for those doing a lot of miles.

                  I'm sobbing about this

Bought a 03 Merc CLK 320 for 17K about 20 months ago and with a such a depressed market, in light of fuel costs and the hike to £450 odd for car tax. I've only done about 4,000 miles in it as I was working in London and now I'm abroad.

To be sure of a sale I'm probably going to have to loose 5K or something
I could have bloody used taxis for less than that!

                  sobbing...like I said

if you're going to buy a V8 you may as well get an lpg conversion. You'd probably still save money overall.
